About Trip

Rara lake trekking is the remote villages of Jumla and Mugu districts of Nepal. The lake is amazing peace. This trekking starts from Jumla- a flight from Nepalgunj.The route is well off the beaten track and affords glimpses of culture and scenery very different from other parts of Nepal. Rara Lake is as deep as 167 meters in some places, and drains into the river Mugu Karnali via Nijar Khola. The Rara National Park is the home of endangered red panda, common langur, and rhesus macaque. Rhododendron, juniper, oak, spruce and Cyprus are the rich vegetations of this destinations.The Rara lake and its surroundings that forms Rara National Park, is situated at about 370 km northwest of Kathmandu. Much of the park is at an altitude of about 3000 metres forested by conifers. 20 different species of mammals such as musk deer, Himalayan Thar, Red Panda, leopard etc and 214 species of birds like Snow Cock, Coots, Grebes, Mallard etc. are found in the park. Similarly, the region is also the home to 500 different kinds of flowers and herbs including rhododendron and juniper.
